SAD

Yesterday was a very sad day in our house. We have been talking for a while about getting rid of Copper not in a bad way of getting rid of him just for the better. Yesterday I decided to do it. Let me tell you it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. It felt like I was getting rid of one of my kids. In a way he was one. We have had copper since he was 8 weeks old. I have never cried so much in my life over an animal. It will be hard not having him around but I know it's for the best all around. We love you Copper and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Annette, I know that you did what is best for your family. Some dogs are just not meant to stay around with the changing family surroundings. I remember how Rob cried when we had to get rid of Lexi (his mother didn't let me live that down for awhile, but she's not in my family and she didn't know how destructive Lexi was). Fortunately for us, she lives with my Dad in WA and we get to see her at least once a year. Pets do become a part of your family. It will feel so weird for a while and you will miss him, but it will get better. I know that I will cry if I have to get rid of Rollo. I've been thinking about you today, I hope you are feeling better.

Oh, man, I am sooo sorry! I know how you feel- I cried shamelessly for weeks after we lost our Henry. It is amazing how much you can become attached to your pets, isn't it? How is Caelum handling it? Hopefully he is not too sad. Hang in there!
